
The Reverend Daniel R. Burris, Pastor
Pastor Dan was born and raised near Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and earned a double major in Religion and Philosophy. He attend seminary at the Lutheran Theological Seminary. During his yearlong internship, he served at King of Kings in Fairfax, VA. Pastor Dan graduated in May 2013 with a degree concentration in Theology and Public Life and received honors in New Testament studies.
After graduation, Pastor Dan was assigned to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod and received his first call as an Associate Pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in August of 2013. During his tenure at St. John’s, he was primarily responsible for working with learning ministries, including youth and families and Christian Education. Pastor Dan also regularly shared in preaching and leading worship as well as assisting with ongoing pastoral care needs.
Pastor Dan and his wife Liz are blessed to have two wonderful children, Emmett and Charlotte. Emmett just recently turned 2 and loves going to the park, throwing and kicking balls, and hosting picnics with his stuffed animals. Charlotte was born on March 21st and currently enjoys sleeping most of the day, eating, followed by more sleeping.

Thomas Huener, Kantor
Tom is the Chair of the Department of Theory, Composition, and Musicology at East Carolina University. He has extensive education in music and the liberal arts, including several advanced degrees. Tom also has specific experience as a choir director and music director in Lutheran congregations in Iowa and Michigan. Tom oversees the Music Ministry Staff at Our Redeemer. He and his wife Kathy Verbanac have been members of Our Redeemer for over 20 years.

Carolyn Green, Associate Organist
Carolyn has been a member of Our Redeemer since 2001. Carolyn has been a church musician since age 12 when she began playing at Zion Lutheran Church in WaKeeney, Kansas for Sunday morning services. There, Carolyn helped lead Sunday school, opened worship by playing piano and accompanied the choir and Christmas programs. Carolyn has been a regular substitute organist at Our Redeemer for many years prior to becoming our Associate Organist. She serves as a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife, and is a member of the East Carolina Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Connie Widney, Associate Organist
Connie has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Cincinnati. During the week, she is a full-time librarian at the Farmville Public Library. Connie served as the Director of Music and Organist for St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Greenville, NC from February 2001-January 2013 and as Director of Music at Our Redeemer from 2000-2001. She is a member of the Greenville Choral Society and the East Carolina Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

Bill has experience teaching music in the public school system and plays trumpet. Bill served as the Choir Director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for many years. He and his wife Susan-Beck Frazier have been members of Our Redeemer since March 2013.
